The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and Sun-Canadian Pipeline Company identified the need to implement bank protection works at an eroded bank along the west bank of the East Don River, which exposed an abandoned 220mm oil pipeline.

Greck was retained to prepare detailed design plans to restore and stabilize the channel bank against erosion and provide long-term protection of the pipeline. Hydraulics analysis was completed to ensure the proposed works did not significantly increase local regulatory flood hazards.

Construction inspection was provided to assist in the construction and ensure the design plans were being followed.
