Greck was retained by Bethany Co-Op and York Region to develop and implement an improved stormwater drainage strategy for the residential community. Constructed in 1986, the Co-Op consists of an apartment building and 44 townhomes serviced by a private road network and parking areas.

Residents had experienced persistent ponding and poor drainage conditions, resulting in roadway deterioration, accessibility concerns, and ongoing maintenance issues. Greck investigated the existing drainage conditions and prepared a revised stormwater management (SWM) strategy that included retrofits and additions to the existing storm sewer network to improve drainage and reduce surface ponding.

Greck provided detailed design services and continued to support the project through construction, including construction inspection and certification of the completed works. The improvements provided a practical and long-term solution to the community’s drainage deficiencies while improving roadway conditions and accessibility.
